Sr. Finance Manager
Our client, a top-tier real estate developer in Dubai, is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to lead and manage the finance and accounts division. The role involves working closely with top management to oversee capital structure, optimize financing options, and ensure accurate financial reporting. Key responsibilities include managing cash flow, building strong banking relationships, arranging financing, and overseeing receivables, payables, and financial forecasting. The ideal candidate will provide strategic financial direction and deliver daily dashboards to support informed decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop budget proposals in coordination with senior management, ensuring contract compliance and financial reporting.
- Forecast cash needs and optimize cash balances across accounts to maintain sufficient liquidity for company operations.
- Research revenue opportunities, economic trends, and internal operations to identify cost reduction and process improvement areas.
- Assess the company’s capital structure, manage fundraising initiatives, and evaluate investment strategies.
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and auditing standards while guiding the finance team on tax filings, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage daily cash flows, ensuring the availability of liquid assets to cover short-term liabilities.
- Manage banking relationships, open and close bank accounts across different regions and currencies and negotiate terms with financial institutions.
- Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management to optimize working capital.
- Manage credit lines, guarantees, and assess the creditworthiness of customers and counterparties to minimize financial risk.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currency exchange fluctuations, interest rate changes, and credit risks.
- Establish and enforce internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes and regulatory adherence.
- Monitor business performance using tracking tools and establish corrective measures as needed.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports related to cash flow, debt exposure, and risk assessment.
- Provide regular updates to management, investors, and rating agencies on the company’s financial position and treasury activities.
- Develop dashboards to track company financial health, commitments, and project fund flows.
- Coordinate with external agencies for payroll, benefits, recruitment, and other HR functions impacting financial operations.
- Oversee finance IT systems and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Manage Escrow accounts as per Dubai Land Department (DLD) requirements, including opening accounts and securing fund releases.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as Sr. Finance Manager, finance officer, or relevant role in a real estate development firm or real estate brokerage.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices followed in the UAE.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite).
- An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
- Certified Public Accountant certification is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior management role is a must.
- Minimum 15+ years of proven experience in accounting and financial management practice, with at least 5 of them in the UAE.
Technology and Tools: The candidate must have knowledge of modern treasury department tools and systems, including:
- Treasury Management Systems (TMS): For cash management, forecasting, and risk analysis.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems: For integrating financial data across the organization.
- Payment Platforms: For efficient payment processing.
